MANILA, Philippines — Bryan Bagunas tied the knot with longtime partner Nicole Tracy Tan on Tuesday.
It was worth the wait and sacrifice for the Philippine men’s volleyball star, who decided to skip the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia, as the preparations of him and his wife led to a beautiful wedding.
Former national team coach and National University’s five-time UAAP champion tactician Dante Alinsunurin attended Bagunas’ wedding with his assistant coaches Dong Dela Cruz and Jessie Lopez, who was the outside spiker’s teammate when they earned a historic silver medal in the 2019 SEA Games.
Ex-national team captain John Vic De Guzman and Kim Malabunga also graced the wedding with the former posting a heartfelt message for the newly-wed couple.
“Wish ko ang pang gold medal na samahan – yung walang bibitaw kahit gaano pa ka challenging ang inyong makalaban. Block niyo lang lahat ng negativity, Receive niyo lang lahat ng blessing, habang sine-set niyo ang lahat ng plano niyo – para kahit saan man kayo dalhin ni Lord – guaranteed ang attack point basta solid ang chemistry ninyo!” De Guzman said.
“Para sa pang matagalang pagmamahalan ng hari ng Philippine Volleyball at hair sa puso ng kaniyang reyna – God Bless you both!”
The officials of WinStreak Volleyball Club also attended the wedding of their Asian import.
It has been a successful year for Bagunas as he shone in his first stint in Taiwan, emerging as Top Volleyball League’s Most Valuable Player and leading WinStreak to a championship.
Bagunas, who played for Japan V.League for three seasons, will return to Taiwan and also looking forward to rejoining the national team when he gets a call-up after their wedding.
