INDIANAPOLIS — Traffic was brought to a standstill in the westbound lanes of Interstate 70 near Spiceland Friday evening due to a reported vehicle fire.

According to INDOT, all westbound lanes near Mile Markers 124-131.1 are currently closed as crews arrive on the scene to help clear the road between Dublin Pike and IN 3. This portion is located around seven miles east of Spiceland.

Indiana State Police confirmed shortly after 8:30 p.m. that I-70 westbound had reopened to one lane at the 131-mile marker but still urged other drivers to avoid the area.

INDOT has not confirmed if any occupants have sustained any injuries.

No other information was immediately available.
