During this campaign stop on the border, former President Donald Trump’s running mate, Sen. JD Vance met with members of the Cochise County Sheriff’s Department and the National Border Patrol Council (NBPC).

Former President Donald Trump’s running mate, Sen. JD Vance, visited Arizona this week with stops in the city of Glendale on Wednesday evening, before heading to the southern border in Cochise County on Thursday.

Vance spoke to a packed house at Arizona Christian University in Glendale.

“In 96 days, we’re going to take back our country and elect Donald J. Trump and it’s going to start right here in Arizona,” vowed Vance on Wednesday. “We are grateful to have Republican leaders in the State of Arizona and across our country who are committed to putting citizens first.”

On Thursday, Vance visited Border Patrol’s Tucson Sector which includes Pima and Cochise counties. It is currently the busiest area for illegal border crossings despite the grueling heat.

Vance criticized the Biden-Harris administration’s handling of border security during the visit and outlined what a Trump-Vance administration would do to secure the border. During his campaign stop, he met with ranch owner John Ladd, members of the Cochise County Sheriff’s Department and the National Border Patrol Council (NBPC). The NBPC is a labor union that represents federal border patrol agents and staff.

Vance claimed that President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, who was named the “border czar” by Biden, implemented policies that have exacerbated illegal immigration and increased drug running across the U.S.-Mexico border.
