It’s gourd-geous.

A 2,554-pound pumpkin in near Buffalo, N.Y., has broken the U.S. record for heaviest pumpkin.

The previous record was 2,528 pounds and the previous New York state record was 2,517 pounds. The world record belongs to Stefano Cutrupi, an Italian grower, who sprouted a 2,702-pound squash last year.

Emmett Andrusz, from left, Steve Andrusz and Scott Andrusz, pose with the record setting 2,554-pound pumpkin, in Clarence, N.Y., Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022. Scott Andrusz's entry broke the previous record of 2,528 pounds.

The pumpkin was grown by Scott Andrusz, who showed off the behemoth at the Great Pumpkin Farm fall festival in Clarence where it will be on display until Oct. 16, according to the Buffalo News.

The record may not be Andrusz’s for long, however. A pumpkin grown from a seed from Cutrupi’s record-breaker is set to be weighed at the Safeway World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off in California on Oct. 10.
