MANILA, Philippines—Adamson compounded Ateneo’s woes with a 23-25, 25-19, 25-15, 25-12 victory in the UAAP Season 84 women’s volleyball tournament Tuesday at Mall of Asia Arena.

The Lady Falcons barged into the win column after dropping their first two games against National University and La Salle.

The Blue Eagles, the tournament’s defending champions, suffered their third loss as their quest for a breakthrough win continues.

“We’re already tired but it was worth it,” said Lady Falcons head coach Lerma Giron.

“Of course, we’re very happy. Like I said earlier, we really need to win this game because the players have already sacrificed so much. All of us at Adamson and even in the coaching staff, we really wanted to get this game”

A set away from clinching the game, Adamson doubled down and zoomed to a 22-7 lead in the fourth set off a kill from May Ann Nique.

Trisha Genesis played her best game of the season with 17 points that went with 12 excellent receptions to power the Lady Falcons while Nique contributed 15 points and 13 excellent digs.

Faith Nisperos did the heavy lifting for Ateneo anew with 16 points and 12 excellent receptions.
