GREEN BAY, WI — Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI), a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, today released the following statement regarding the FBI’s raid of Mar-a-Lago.
“The FBI’s decision to raid a former President’s home is unprecedented. After the revelations of the FBI’s abuse of FISA warrants, Attorney General Garland and the Department of Justice must tell the American public what they were looking for, why they believed it was there, and most importantly what they found. And they must tell us now. We need maximum transparency, oversight, and accountability to preserve trust in the Intelligence Community, the DoJ, and federal law enforcement. Director Wray should immediately comply with Ranking Member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Michael Turner’s request to fully brief Congress on this action. The silence from the DoJ, FBI, and Attorney General is already inexcusable.”
