WASHINGTON, DC – Yesterday, Congressman Scott Fitzgerald (R-WI) was named Chairman of the Judiciary Subcommittee on the Administrative State, Regulatory Reform, and Antitrust for the 119th Congress by Judiciary Committee Chairman, Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH).
“I am honored by Chairman Jordan’s decision to name me Chair of the Subcommittee,” said Congressman Fitzgerald. “As chairman, I look forward to working with the Trump Administration, Chairman Jordan, and members of the committee to hold Big Tech accountable for censorship, reverse the Biden Administration’s anti-business agenda, and fight the federal bureaucracy.“
Background: The Subcommittee on the Administrative State, Regulatory Reform, and Antitrust has jurisdiction over bankruptcy and commercial law, bankruptcy judgeships, administrative law, independent counsel, state taxation affecting interstate commerce, interstate compacts, antitrust matters, other appropriate matters as referred by the Chairman, and relevant oversight. Congressman Fitzgerald has served on this committee for the past four years and focused on ensuring competition laws benefit consumers, preventing foreign state-owned enterprises from distorting our markets, and fighting back against bureaucrats seeking to implement ESG criteria and other aspects of the left-wing agenda into antitrust enforcement.
