Two more former fraternity brothers have been handed jail time in connection with a hazing-related incident that culminated in the fatal alcohol poisoning of a student at Bowling Green State University.

Stone Foltz died just days after he was found unresponsive in his apartment following a “Big/Little” event hosted by the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity on March 4, 2021. Authorities said he finished an entire liter of liquor in under 20 minutes as part of his initiation into the frat.

At the time of his death on March 7, 2021, the 20-year-old had a blood alcohol content level of .35, which is more than four times the legal limit, according to his autopsy.

Troy Henricksen on Wednesday was sentenced to 42 days in jail and 28 days of house for his role in the fatal incident. The 24-year-old from Grove City, Ohio was previously convicted on misdemeanors including hazing and failure to comply with underage alcohol laws. Jacob Krinn, 21, of Delaware, Ohio, meanwhile was found guilty on counts of obstruction of official business, hazing and failure to comply. He was also ordered to spend 42 days behind bars.

Back in May, both men were acquitted on more serious counts stemming from Foltz’s death, including involuntary manslaughter and reckless homicide.

Six other former fraternity members have recently pleaded guilty to range of charges, including several who testified against Henricksen and Krinn. Some were sentenced to jail terms of between seven and 28 days, while of them were ordered to spend 28 days on house arrest.

Foltz’s parents in a statement issued ahead of the sentencing said that the actions of the defendants were “cruel, senseless, and destructive—to their lives and ours.” They have also filed a lawsuit against Bowling Green State University, alleging the Kentucky school did little to stop the hazing rituals despite being aware that they were taking place.
