Two arrested in Franklin Co. for meth possession

Two people have been arrested for possession of methamphetamine by the Franklin County, Indiana, Sheriff’s Department.Deputies say around 7:45 a.m. on Friday, officials from the sheriff’s department and the Indiana State Police Emergency Response Team served a search warrant at a residence in the 25000 block of U.S. 52, near Laurel, in an attempt to locate a fugitive.Authorities say while conducting their search, deputies discovered evidence of “suspected” meth possession, leading to them applying for and receiving a second search warrant for further investigation.Officials say as a result of their investigation, the homeowners – Jeremy Wells, 39, and Casey Wells, 32 – were arrested and taken into custody without incident and taken to the Franklin County Security Center.Deputies say both were charged with meth possession, a level 4 felony, and released after posting bond while awaiting their initial court appearance.Officials say if convicted of a level 4 felony, both Jeremy and Casey will each face up to 12 years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines.More charges are possible.
