It wasn’t pretty, but the Tennessee Titans managed to escape Nissan Stadium in Week 3 with a 24-22 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders.
With the win, the Titans avoid an 0-3 start, improving to 1-2 instead, and the sky can stop falling in Nashville for a week.
A win is a win, but the Titans did it in about as inconsistent a fashion as one could imagine.
After looking like a well-oiled machine in the first half en route to a 24-10 lead, Tennessee didn’t score another point the rest of the way for the second straight game.
Needing a big effort from their defense to overcome that, the Titans got just enough from the unit in what was the definition of a bend-but-don’t-break performance.
Putting the ugliness of what we saw in the second half aside for now, the Titans and their fans can breathe a sigh of relief ahead of a huge divisional showdown with the Indianapolis Colts in Week 4.
