MINNESOTA TWINS HOMESTAND HIGHLIGHTS: AUG. 23-SEPT. 1

Twins to host Atlanta, St. Louis and Toronto for nine-game, 10-day homestand through Labor Day Weekend; Theme nights and gate giveaways on tap

 

MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, MN – The Minnesota Twins – who are 64-43 (.598) since April 22, the best record in baseball since that date, and are just 2.0 games out of first place in the American League Central – return to Target Field tomorrow to begin a nine-game, 10-day homestand against Interleague opponents the St. Louis Cardinals (3 games; August 23-25) and Atlanta Braves (3 games; August 26-28). Following an off-day on Thursday, August 29, Minnesota will close out the homestand with a Labor Day Weekend series against American League East foe the Toronto Blue Jays (3 games; August 30-September 1).

This homestand features three theme nights (Pickleball Night on Friday, August 23; sold-out Wine, Women & Baseball on Monday, August 26; and Barbie Game Day™ on Sunday, September 1); five group events (St. Olaf College Night on Saturday, August 24; Faith Day on Saturday, August 24; Norwegian Heritage Day on Sunday, August 25; Horsepower and Home Runs on Tuesday, August 27; and Cricket Night on Wednesday, August 28); four gate giveaways (Carlos Correa Replica Jersey on Saturday, August 24; Kids T.C. PABLO DAY

Whenever right-handed pitcher Pablo López starts at Target Field, fans can celebrate “Pablo Day” with the Twins’ Pablo Day Ticket Package; Pablo is next slated to start on Saturday, August 24 vs. St. Louis. Fans who purchase this package will receive a ticket to the game and an exclusive Pablo-themed jersey, which pays tribute to his Venezuelan roots (now in a red color for the season’s second half). A portion of the proceeds of each package sold benefit local nonprofits Children’s Minnesota, Project Success and Ruff Start Rescue, which were all selected by Pablo and Kaylee López.

APPLE TV+ FRIDAY NIGHT BASEBALL

Tomorrow’s (Friday, August 23) game against the Cardinals will be broadcast on Apple TV+, as part of Apple and Major League Baseball’s “Friday Night Baseball,” a weekly doubleheader available to Apple TV+ subscribers on Fridays throughout the 2024 regular season.

  • Twins City Connect Friday: The Twins will wear their Nike City Connect uniforms for the eighth time tomorrow night.
  • Pickleball Night: Join your fellow pickleball fanatics – including Twins right-handed pitcher Pablo López – for our first-ever Pickleball Night! Fans who purchase this theme night package will receive a ticket to the game and a limited-edition Twins pickleball paddle and cover. The night includes a ceremonial first pitch, pickleball-style, by Rachael Kroog, the only female from Minnesota to have been drafted into the National Pro Pickleball League.
  • Project Success Teacher’s Night: For 20 years, the Twins have partnered with Project Success, a youth development organization that annually impacts over 16,000 students and their families across the Minneapolis public school system. As summer winds down and the classroom beckons, the Twins and Project Success are proud to welcome more than 500 teachers to Target Field on August 23, to thank them for their efforts to shape the next generation of young minds.
  • Postgame Fireworks Show: Fans are invited to stick around following the game for a fireworks show.

 

Saturday, August 24 vs. St. Louis Cardinals (6:10 p.m.; gates open at 4:00 p.m.)

  • St. Olaf College Night: All associated with the St. Olaf College are invited to join their fellow Oles for St. Olaf College Night! Fans who purchase this group event package will receive a ticket to the game and an exclusive co-themed St. Olaf/Twins jersey. A portion of each ticket purchased will support St. Olaf athletic programs. The night also includes a ceremonial first pitch by Kelly Mahlum, St. Olaf’s interim athletic director and senior woman administrator.
  • Breck Night: Students and alumni of Breck School in Golden Valley are welcome to join in the fun of Breck Night! The night includes a ceremonial first pitch thrown by Marylove Ogunro, a senior at Breck who was elected Student Body President for the upcoming school year.
  • Winnebago Industries – Target Plaza Activation: On August 24, Winnebago Industries will have a Newmar Ventana RV on display and available for tours on Target Plaza, along with Crumbl Cookies’ smores cookies for fans to try.
  • Faith Night (postgame): The Twins will host Faith Night on August 24, in collaboration with PraiseLive. The event features a postgame program shortly after the final out with live worship music and player testimonies.

 

Sunday, August 25 vs. St. Louis Cardinals presented by U.S. Bank (1:10 p.m.; gates open at 11:00 a.m.)

  • Gate Giveaway – Kids T.C. Bear “Squishie” Pillow: The first 5,000 kids 12-and-under in attendance will receive a T.C. Bear “Squishie” Pillow presented by U.S. Bank.
  • Norwegian Heritage Day: Join the Twins in celebrating Norwegian heritage on August 25! Fans who purchase this group event package will receive a ticket to the game and an exclusive Norwegian Heritage Day Twins hat. The day includes a special food item – a Norwegian chop sandwich – being served in Keeper’s Heart Town Ball Tavern and a ceremonial first pitch by Elaine Nelson, who grew up in Knox, North Dakota and has been a member of Sons of Norway for over 55 years.
  • Winnebago Industries – Target Plaza Activation: On August 25, Winnebago Industries will have a Newmar Ventana RV on display and available for tours on Target Plaza. The event includes a meet and greet with National Baseball Hall of Famer and Twins legend Tony Oliva from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
  • Kids Day presented by Target and Gillette Children’s: Every Sunday home game at Target Field is Kids Day presented by Target and Gillette Children’s!

    • A member of the T.C. Sluggers Kids Club will be the Play Ball kid.

  • Childhood Cancer Awareness Day: September 1 is Childhood Cancer Awareness Day across Major League Baseball. Activations include jersey decals, wristbands, base jewels and lineup cards with the yellow ribbon symbol. Additional activations include:
    • Nonprofit Recognition: The Twins will host and honor three childhood cancer nonprofits – Gilda’s Club, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Children’s Cancer Research Fund.
    • Starting Lineup/7th Inning Stretch: A special starting lineup will feature three kids from each of the nonprofits; the kids will then form a tunnel for the Twins to run through as they take the field. The same kids will sing “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” in the middle of the seventh inning.
