Trump bizarrely claiming immigrants have phone app direct to Kamala Harris

My recent work focusing on Latino voters in Arizona has shown me how crucial independent journalism is in giving voice to underrepresented communities.

Your support is what allows us to tell these stories, bringing attention to the issues that are often overlooked. Without your contributions, these voices might not be heard.

Every dollar you give helps us continue to shine a light on these critical issues in the run up to the election and beyond

Former president Donald Trump asserted Vice President Kamala Harris was “born mentally impaired” in the first few minutes at his Wisconsin rally on Saturday afternoon.

“Joe Biden became mentally impaired, Kamala was born that way,” Trump told a room of rallygoers in Prairie du Chien while criticizing the administration’s position on immigration.

The former president falsely asserted, once again, that Harris was appointed “border czar” and allowed migrants to cross the border and commit violent crimes.

“Only a mentally disabled person could have allowed this to happen to our country,” Trump said.

There is no evidence of mass “migrant crime” happening across America nor any indication Harris was born with a disability that impacts her mental or cognitive functioning.

Trump also blamed the Biden administration for not allocating enough Secret Service resources to accommodate a large outdoor rally. He complained the indoor space only held “2,000” people or less but that “40,000” people wanted to attend his rally.

The former president is also expected to attend a college football game between Alabama and Georgia. Meanwhile, Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz will attend the game between Michigan and Minnesota.

Trump: ‘Two years ago I wouldn’t have had a fly up here’

A fly interrupted Trump’s rally speech in Wisconsin on Saturday, which he insinuated could be due to an influx of migrants.

“Two years ago I wouldn’t have had a fly up here,” the former president said.

New report resurfaces Vance’s comments about Trump

In 2020, Senator JD Vance sent private messages on X complaining about Donald Trump’s economic “failure” during his first presidential term and predicted he would lose the 2020 election, according to a new report from the Washington Post.

The new report brings to light more critical comments Vance made about his running mate – something Democrats have used to paint the Trump–Vance ticket as inconsistent and untrustworthy.

“Trump has just so thoroughly failed to deliver on his economic populism (excepting a disjointed China policy),” Vance allegedly wrote to an anonymous source in February 2020.

Months later, in June 2020, Vance predicted Trump would lose to President Joe Biden.

A spokesperson for Vance told the Washington Post that Vance’s remarks were targeted toward “Establishment Republicans who thwarted much of Trump’s populist economic agenda to increase tariffs and boost domestic manufacturing in Congress.”

Trump says he was denied Secret Service resources for rally

Former president Donald Trump’s rally in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin was cut down from a large outdoor rally to a smaller indoor one because “the administration” could not give him the Secret Service resources necessary.

Trump claimed an outdoor space could have held “40,000” or “60,000” people but instead, the venue he held the rally could only  hold “2,000” or “less.”

He said it was a result of lacking Secret Service resources – there have been two attempts to assassinate the former president in the last four months.

“Because the administration couldn’t give us the Secret Service necessary because they’re guarding the Iranian president who is looking to kill Trump,” the former president told people.

The former president insinuated Secret Service was protecting the president of Iran. The Independent could not verify that information immediately.

New Harris ad taunts Trump during Georgia v Alabama game

Vice President Kamala Harris’s team is running ads during the Alabama and Georgia college football game, which Donald Trump is attending, that mocks Trump for refusing to participate in a second presidential debate against Harris.

The “Say It To My Face” ad uses stock footage of football players in contrast to footage of Trump golfing to claim the former president is a “loser” who will “take his ball home.”

“Winner never back down from a challenge,” the ad says. “But losers, they whine and waffle and take their ball home.”

The ad will air nationally during the primetime game and be featured on a plane that will fly above the Bryant-Denny Stadium while Trump is at the game.

“Donald Trump walked off the stage at the first debate angry and rattled after he failed to offer any coherent vision for where he wants to take this country, so now he’s trying to take his ball and go home,” Harris-Walz Communications Director Michael Tyler said/

“No matter where Trump looks tonight – whether it’s up in the sky or at the TV in his luxury box – he won’t be able to escape the truth: Trump is running away from a second debate with Vice President Harris because he doesn’t want the American people to see just how weak and unpopular he and his Project 2025 agenda are.”

Vance to attend town hall with evangelist who accused Harris of ‘witchcraft’

JD Vance is being criticized for a planned town hall this weekend with Lance Wallnau, a pro-Trump evangelical leader who has backed election conspiracies and accused Kamala Harris of using witchcraft.

He warned the Monroeville, Pennsylvania, event would take on extra significance because it’s close to where Trump was nearly assassinated, a near-miss Trump’s more religious supporters take as divine intervention.

The Harris campaign, meanwhile, blasted Vance in a statement for appearing alongside a “conspiracy theorist” like Wallnau.

Speaking to an online talk show earlier this month, Wallnau said Kamala Harris’s debate performance was tied to witchcraft.

“She can look presidential,” Wallnau said. “That’s the seduction of what I would say is witchcraft. That’s the manipulation of imagery that creates an impression contrary to the truth, but it seduces you into seeing it. So that spirit, that occult spirit, I believe is operating on her and through her.”

Harris should be impeached, says twice-impeached Trump

Donald Trump suggested Vice President Kamala Harris should be “impeached” and blamed her for allowing thousands of people who committed crimes into the United States.

Despite having been impeached twice during his own presidency, Trump believes “there can be nothing worse” than what Harris has done – though he did not clarify what exactly that is.

“Even the LameStream Media is mocking Comrade Kamala Harris for her pathetic attempt yesterday to justify her HORRIBLE performance at the Border.

14,000 CONVICTED thugs and slimeballs who have committed MURDER have been allowed to enter our Country, totally unvetted and unchecked, and roam free to KILL AGAIN…And they will kill again, over and over, and wreak havoc like never seen before. We don’t know anything about them.

Kamala is a FOOL to have let this happen to our beautiful USA.

It is totally unjustifiable, there can be nothing worse! She should be IMPEACHED for what she as done to our Country!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

According to Immigration and Customs Enforcement, 13,099 noncitizens have been convicted on homicide charges and are currently non detained.

Trump and Harris supporters are extremely divided on immigration views

It’s no surprise Donald Trump supporters strongly support mass deportations of immigrants living in the United States illegally while Kamala Harris supporters believe admitting immigrants into the U.S. ensures a diverse population.

The two differing beliefs stand in stark contrast to one another, and they give some insights into how political rhetoric has shaped how people view immigrants.

Polling from Pew Research Center shows that Harris supporters are more welcoming of immigrants and believe they can fill labor shortages, diversify the population and deserve to seek asylum when necessary.

In a survey of Americans, 27 percent of Harris supporters said they support mass deportations – a policy Trump has promoted.

But 88 percent of Trump supporters said they favor mass deportations. Additionally, they do not think being married to a U.S. citizen or even being a refugee should even allow immigrants to stay in the country.
