Good morning and happy Friday! We kick things off on a warm note with humid conditions outside. It will be another hot day with temps nearing record highs this afternoon. The record is 95 set back in 1964 and we will make a strong run at tying the record.
As we progress into the evening hours, temps will remain hot and humid for high school football. Temps around kick-off could still be sitting in the low 90s with feel-like temps in the mid-90s.
A cold front will slide through overnight, providing some much-needed rain across the state. A few storms could produce gusty winds and heavy downpours.
Showers will continue into Saturday and could stick around for much of the day.
This cold front will bring much-needed relief from the heat as temps fall into the lower 80s on Saturday and we open September on a fall note.
