Clouds are increasing and dry weather will be holding through the morning rush hour, as temperatures remain steady in the upper 30s and lower 40s out-the-door. Eventually, showers will make it to the state between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. This will be a narrow band pushing through Indiana with most receiving well under .10″ in spots. A few lightning strikes could happen within this line, too, as indicated in St. Louis earlier today.
By the afternoon, sunshine will return, along with gusty winds up to 40 mph. Temperatures will warm back to around 50°, marking another mild day for February. Eventually, a cooler flow will begin to impede the area, as temperatures start to slip by 2 to 3 p.m. in downtown.
A colder shot of air drops in tonight, as clouds increase and temperatures bottom out in the middle 20s. Dry weather will hold through the Friday morning rush hour.
Friday brings a snow chance by the afternoon and into the early evening. Timing could create a few issues for NBA All-Star events in downtown, but snow amounts should stay under 2″ in most spots. Roads will be wet to slushy for the evening rush hour as we wind down the workweek.
The weekend brings a return to sunshine and dry time. Saturday will remain breezy and quite cold but improving on Sunday, as highs return to the middle 40s.
