HATTIESBURG — The Mississippi High School Activities Association softball championships started on Tuesday.
Here are the top performers from this week’s championship matchups.

Wednesday
Liz Massey, East Webster: The senior allowed seven hits with three strikeouts and only allowed one run in East Webster’s 14-1 victory over Lake in the Game 1 of the Class 2A championship series.
Abby Williams, East Webster: The junior had a two-RBI single to left field.
Emma Jennings, East Webster: Jennings led the Wolverines went 3-for-5 with an RBI in East Webster’s Game 1 victory.
Adyson McKnight, Lake: The freshman went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Shaylee Ingram, Sumrall: The junior finished 2-for-4 with two-RBIs in Sumrall’s 5-4 victory over Kosciusko in Game 2 for the Class 4A championship series.
Brandy Bond, Sumrall: The sophomore had a game-winning two-RBI in the seventh inning to keep the Bobcats’ season alive.
Mary Kimble Price, Kosciusko: The freshman went 1-for-4 with an RBI single in the seventh inning.

MHSAA CLASS 5A SOFTBALL PLAYOFFS:Neshoba Central softball wins 9th straight MHSAA championship
Julia Shaw, Hernando: The senior 1-for-3 and allowed seven hits with five strikeouts in Hernando’s 3-1 victory over Petal in Game 1 of the Class 6A championship series.
Avery Wolfe, Hernando: The senior went with 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
Kinley Hogue, Petal: Hogue went 2-for-3 with a home run in the seventh inning.
Mya Willis, Neshoba Central: The sophomore went 2-for-3 with a double and five RBIs in Neshoba Central’s title clinching 14-4 victory over East Central.
Mauhree Jones, Neshoba Central: Jones went 2-for-3 with a walk and four RBIs.
Thursday
Latia Keyes, Taylorsville: The senior went 2-for-4 with a two-RBI double in the sixth inning to help Taylorsville defeat Vardaman 7-4 in Game 2 of the Class 1A championship series.
Emma Rankin, Taylorsville: Rankin gave up four runs through the first five innings but settle down to hold Vardaman to one in afterward. The senior finished with nine strikeouts.
Kinley Hogue, Petal: The senior went 2-for-3 with a triple, three RBIs and two intentional walks in Petal’s 7-2 victory over Hernando in Game 2 of the Class 6A championship series.
Natalie Herrington, Petal: Herrington had a complete game with seven strikeouts and held Hernando to two earned runs.
Rylee Eyster, Hernando: The senior went 3-for-4 and two putouts.

Emma Rankin, Taylorsville: Rankin went 3-for-4 with two RBIs. The senior also allowed five hits with three strikeouts in Taylorsville’s 9-5 victory over Vardaman.
Kylee Beth Moore, Taylorsville: Moore went 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
Makynlie Jones, Vardaman: The senior went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
Emma Jennings, East Webster: The senior went 3-for-3 with an RBI in East Webster’s 11-1 victory over Lake.
Liz Massey, East Webster: The senior allowed four hits and one run with five strikeouts.
Hallie Burns, Booneville: The Ole Miss commitment had an eight strikeout, no-hitter in Booneville’s 8-0 victory Friday.
Saturday
Anna Grace Whitehead, Kosciusko: The sophomore allowed six hits with eight strikeouts in Kosciusko’s 10-1 victory over Sumrall Saturday. Whitehead also went 2-for-4 with a two-run double.
Mary Kimble Price, Kosciusko: Price had a two-run home run in the first inning.
