For fans of the Tennessee Titans, the world must seem like it’s crashing down around them. First on Tuesday, they saw general manager Ran Carthon get fired; a gut-punch to many. Now, on the heels of that news, they learn that their iconic radio voice, Mike Keith, is leaving the organization.

Although Keith isn’t going far away, heading back to Knoxville to take over as the voice of his alma mater, the Tennessee Volunteers, it is still the end of an era and a sad day for the Titans.

Keith has meant so much to the franchise and has been the voice of the Titans for a generation, spending nearly three decades in the radio booth. The news even moved Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk to announce that Keith will immediately be inducted into the team’s Ring of Honor.

During his 27 seasons in the position he has seen the highs and lows of the franchise, including one of the most famous plays in NFL history, “The Music City Miracle.”

One thing is certain, today is both the end of an era and a sad day for Titans’ fans. The dawn of a new generation is upon them as the voice of the Titans moves to Rocky Top.
