LAFAYETTE, Ind. — A structure fire in Lafayette left a person dead on Tuesday.
According to a press release from the Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office, the fire broke out in the 1700 block of Central Street. The coroner was called to the scene around 9:15 a.m.
TCCO is still working to positively identify the decedent.
An autopsy will be conducted on the decedent on Friday. TCCO and the Lafayette police and fire departments are all investigating Tuesday’s blaze.
