The Tennessee Titans lost at their own game on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals, who had a great schematic game plan on both sides of the ball.
On offense, the Titans were stifled by the Bengals’ aggressive front and struggled at times with their Cover 0 pressure looks.
On defense, the Titans had no “edge” and played into the Bengals’ style by giving them looks they like.
Let’s see what happened on film below!
Bengals 6-1 front is just hard to run on. Totally takes away the zone run and duo. Counter to it is power. #Titans first run. Creates one on one blocks with a puller for the 2nd level defender. Easier to do than execute reach blocks and climbs v this front.
Best run of the day. pic.twitter.com/mbUivSO1bm

Bengals DC just has the #Titans completely figured out. Titans love using 13 to go spread. Catch the defense off guard expecting a run, hit a quick game pass for easy yards on 1st. Bengals know that so when they see it, they drop 8 in zone to take away the quick pass. So smart. pic.twitter.com/bEy2iBuKhq

DJ Reader takes a left step on the snap here and you can tell Brew is not expecting it. Completely trips to the ground and gives a free lane to Logan Wilson for the TFL. Henry does not look happy lol #Titans pic.twitter.com/RXrmA97mRb

Absolute SEAM BEAM from Tannehill!!
Bengals did some exotic stuff I am not used to seeing. Jessie Bates fakes like he’s dropping down and rolling to C3, but then pops backwards to deep 1/3.
Tannehill reads it perfect and fires a dart into NWI. GREAT high point catch. #Titans pic.twitter.com/lL14R45fvs

#Titans OL didn’t get enough push in general, here or all day, but this is just not good enough by Radunz.
I think his balance issue make is hard for him to pull. Just doesn’t have good force or drive on contact. Like he can’t control all that weight on his frame. pic.twitter.com/YNFXnq5Wq5

Great job by the blockers on this Henry screen. Brew gets it started, Nate gets up off the ground & starts booking it. Chig blocks his man all the way down the field and Swaim does a nice job.
Excellent effort and awareness though by Burks for his first NFL TD. #Titans pic.twitter.com/3y0DqdLrjF

Correction for Tweet: Hooper, not Swaim
BURKS WAS NOT OPEN!!! #Titans
Everyone was screaming about this play yesterday and it’s why All 22 is so important. The safety is right there to take away the deep crosser. If you want to criticize, I’d rather RT go backside seam to Hoop in 1v1 than try to stick it to NWI. pic.twitter.com/MSBkuu9lVs

Aaron. You are literally staring at your next block. HELP NATE. FIND WORK. WTH.
Dennis gets destroyed on the play as well so who knows if it mattered. pic.twitter.com/zuWstLtxur

Dj Reader is AWESOME. Whooped the #Titans interior all day. Here, Brewer and David both try to get movement on Reader and they can’t. He drives them back and destroys the run. #Titans
Bengals have tailor-made personnel to stop the Titans offense. pic.twitter.com/W1w9etBBIi

Aaron Brewer has to knock the NT back a little to help Nate Davis establish a seal, but Brew isn’t strong enough to do that. Reader never lets Davis cross face, Brew never gets to Pratt. TFL. #Titans pic.twitter.com/8V40O8BZZu
