An 18-year-old and two children aged 13 and 14 have been arrested in the brutal beating of a 70-year-old woman in San Francisco.

Darryl Moore, 18, of Oakland, and the 13- and 14-year-olds have been charged with robbery, elder abuse, burglary, false imprisonment and conspiracy, KGO-TV reported. Another 11-year-old was also involved but not charged due to the young age.

Moore and the three juveniles, whose names were not released, allegedly got into her building in broad daylight on July 31 after asking her what time it was, she later told police. After showing the suspects her watch, she tried to get inside her apartment complex, but they followed her inside and into the elevator, seeking her iPhone, she told KGO.

Inside, they beat and robbed her, police said, kicking her in the head numerous times and inflicting other injuries.

“They used their fist to hit my head multiple times and then they pulled me down and kept kicking me,” she told KGO.

The suspects’ young ages struck San Francisco police chief as “shocking,” according to KGO. Moore was booked at Santa Clara County Jail last Wednesday, while the 13-year-old was booked on unrelated charges at Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall before being sent to Alameda County to be booked on the current case, KGO reported.

The 11-year-old is being assessed by the county, and the 14-year-old had not yet been apprehended Monday.
