The Arizona Attorney General’s Office released the latest quarterly allocation of naloxone in response to the opioid crisis in Arizona.
The initiative is the result of Arizona’s settlement with Teva Manufacturing to address the harms caused to Arizonans by the opioid epidemic. As part of the Teva Settlement Agreement, the State of Arizona opted to receive from Teva Pharmaceuticals 27,700 units of naloxone per year for up to ten years. To date in 2024, Teva has shipped to Arizona a total of 16,500 units of naloxone.
The third quarter purchase order involves the distribution of 7,000 units of naloxone, each containing two doses of nasal naloxone, to communities across Arizona.
Deliveries are expected from late September through November of this year.
