Kicking off this weekend, a host of family fun events and festivities, the Black Family Reunion has been a staple summer experience in Cincinnati for decades. It’s an event where some of Cincinnati’s most rich culture is on display. This year’s theme is “Bold and Beautiful.” There will be a parade Saturday starting at the Avondale Town Center and then an Urban Concert Series at Sawyer Point featuring Raheem Devaughn. On Sunday, there will be a church service with guest pastor Donnie McClurkin, followed by a gospel concert featuring the Clark Sisters. Each event is free and open to the public. City Flea returns to Washington Park Saturday with a special addition.The urban flea market will return with 100-plus local vendors and a bonus “kid market” operated by kid entrepreneurs. It runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.Cincy Beerfest will take place at TQL Stadium on Saturday. The event hosted will allow beer drinkers to choose between two different sessions to sample over 150 local craft beers, wines and cocktails at the stadium. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Big Joe Duskin Music Education Foundation, which promotes music education in underserved communities throughout the tri-state, as well as the historical plaques around Cincinnati honoring the city’s music greats. The two sessions on Aug. 20, will be held from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. and 6 to 10 p.m.Visit cincybeerfest.com for more info.The Western and Southern Open continues into the weekend with quarterfinals Friday for men and women players.
