The Kentucky Symphony Orchestra kicks off its 28th Summer Series this weekend with a parade of marches across history. The free summer park concert series “Marches Madness” will kicked off at Devou Park in Covington on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.Sunday’s concert will be held at Ft. Thomas’ Tower Park at 7:30 p.m. as well. Everyone is sure to know most of these classics from opera, ballet, marching bands and film. Marches Madness opens the season with tunes everyone knows and loves (even if they can’t name the composer or piece), a fabulous Broadway salute to Sondheim in Aug. 6 and 7, and the Rat Pack is back on Labor Day Weekend.The Saturday performance daytime rehearsal in Devou is open to seniors and Sunday’s concert in Ft. Thomas will also be live streamed. To register for concert updates concerning the weather, food truck changes, etc. visit here. Registration and admission are free, but the KYSO says donations of $5 per person are suggested.
