The Tennessee Titans are set to add a safety to their offseason roster ahead of the first preseason game on Thursday night.

According to his agents (via ESPN’s Adam Schefter), the Titans are signing former Cleveland Browns safety Adrian Colbert to a one-year deal. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

A former seventh-round pick of the San Francisco 49ers in 2017, Colbert has played in 39 games (22 starts) over five seasons in the NFL with the Niners, Miami Dolphins, New York Giants, New York Jets and  the Browns.

He’s also had cups of coffee with the New England Patriots, Kansas City Chiefs and Seattle Seahawks.

Colbert played in six games in 2021, including four with the Jets (three starts) and two with the Browns.

It isn’t clear if Colbert’s signing means the Titans have an injury to one of their backup candidates or if they simply aren’t happy with the options they have. Regardless, the 28-year-old will be vying for a reserve role.
