Tennessee Titans cornerback and 2022 second-round pick, Roger McCreary, has agreed to terms on his four-year rookie contract, the team announced on Friday.

According to Justin Melo of The Draft Network, there was apparently some complications with second-round contracts, but McCreary and the Titans were able to get it done.

Per Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Network, McCreary’s deal includes a signing bonus of $3.845 million and base salaries of $705,000, $1.121 million, $1.538 million and $1.954 million over the course of the deal.

With McCreary under contract, quarterback and third-round pick Malik Willis is the only 2022 draft pick who is unsigned.

Looking ahead to his first season in the NFL, McCreary is slated to work in a backup role, but he could also land the job of the extra defensive back when Tennessee uses the dime, something they did frequently last season.

Perhaps more importantly, McCreary may also be the insurance policy for fellow cornerback Caleb Farley, who has long-term concerns ahead of his second season because of his injury history.

McCreary signing comes just one day before Titans rookies report to training camp on July 23. Veterans will report on July 26, and then the Titans will hold their first practice on July 27.
