The Tennessee Titans’ 2024 season mercifully came to an end on Sunday. Like most of the team’s games in 2024, this one ended in a loss. The Titans fell to the Texans by a score of 23-14.
Make no mistake, this is great news for Titans fans. With the Titans losing and the New England Patriots knocking off the Buffalo Bills, the Titans own the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL draft.
Still, it hurts to see the team perform so miserably. There’s almost nothing good to say about this performance. This team doesn’t just lose, they get annihilated in a nearly comical fashion.
Final score: Texans 23, Titans 14

Texans | 7 | 9 | 0 | 7 | 23 |
Keys to the game
- Musical quarterbacks routine doesn’t work: The Titans used both Will Levis and Mason Rudolph on Sunday and it didn’t work. The Titans’ offense looked as anemic and inept as ever. Not sure what the point of that strategy was.
- A backup running back was allowed to rush for 176 yards: Dameon Pierce took the bulk of the carries for the Texans on Sunday. How did the backup respond? By rushing for more yards on Sunday than he had in all other games combined.
- The offensive line was horrendous again: The Titans’ offensive line allowed the Texans to collect two sacks and six tackles for loss. Tony Pollard had no running lanes at all and averaged just 2.8 yards per attempt.
It was over when…
As soon as it began. On the Texans’ first drive, CJ Stroud drove the team down the field for a score. As I say every week, when this team is behind, you can go ahead and change the channel.
That was the case again on Sunday. The effort was pathetic and it seemed like most of the players were already in vacation mode. Who can blame them after this type of season?
Players of the Game
- Calvin Ridley: Calvin Ridley had three catches for 76 yards on the day which was enough to make the wide receiver go over the 1,000-yard mark on the season.
- Tay Martin: Tay Martin made the most of his opportunity on the roster. The wide receiver caught one pass for 49 yards and a touchdown.
- Daryl Worley: Daryl Worley is another player taking advantage of his opportunity to play. The defender led the team in tackles with seven on Sunday.
Injuries
Chig Okonkwo left the game with an abdomen injury and was given a questionable tag.
What’s next?
The Titans head into an uncertain offseason and as of this writing, the Black Monday media schedule has not yet been released.
