INDIANAPOLIS — A teenager was shot on the west side of Indianapolis Saturday night.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Gerrard Drive — which is located near the intersection of Plainfield Avenue and South Lynhurst Drive — at approximately 9:01 p.m. on a report of a person shot. When officers arrived at the scene, they located a teenage male with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds.
IMPD confirmed the teenager is currently in stable condition and expected to survive the injuries he sustained.

IMPD detectives are still trying to get a description of the suspect vehicle used during the shooting. Police reported that they are canvassing the area looking for evidence and attempting to obtain surveillance footage.
Investigators do not believe the shooting poses an ongoing threat to the neighborhood.
