SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — We are learning more about what brought the SWAT team to a central Sioux Falls neighborhood Wednesday afternoon.
Our KELOLAND News crew was able to capture video of the scene at 22nd Street and Spring Avenue.
Sioux Falls Police say it was part of a drug investigation and there was a warrant.
Authorities say there are certain pieces of information that go into activating the SWAT Team.
“There’s a few different reasons the SWAT Team is called, but usually there is some information that there may be a weapon or a possibility of a weapon could be involved. So, really it’s an abundance of caution,” said Communications Officer Sam Clemens.
Clemens says the SWAT Team was on the scene for around an hour.
