SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO) — The Sioux Falls Municipal Band closes out its season of free concerts with a performance at the Washington Pavilion. The Grand Finale concert takes place at the Mary W. Sommervold Hall starting at 8 p.m.
The Summer Concert Series at Good Earth State Park features Too Drunk to Fish. The music starts at 4 p.m. A park entrance license is required.
Arts in the Park in Mitchell features arts, crafts, food, live music and a car show. It’s taking place at Hitchcock Park from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Western Dakota Gem & Mineral Society is hosting a Gem & Mineral Show in the Expo Hall of at Central States Fairgrounds in Rapid City. The event includes panning for gold, door prizes, a silent auction and kids activities. The hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $4, free for children 12 and under.
Beat the summer heat with a visit to one of the City of Sioux Falls’ outdoor pools.They’re located at Drake Springs, Terrace, Frank Olson, Kuehn, Laurel Oak, McKennan, Hayward and Pioneer parks. The hours are 1-8 p.m.
Another outdoor option is Wild Water West water park west of Sioux Falls. Visitors can enjoy the water slides, lazy river, wave pool plus mini-golf from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Skateboarders are invited to take a spin at the new Barb Iverson Skate Plaza at Nelson Park in Sioux Falls. It’s open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Learn about the historic missions of the USS South Dakota during World War II at the Battleship Memorial Museum in Sioux Falls. The museum, located in Sherman Park, is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. through September. Admission is free.
