BROOKINGS, SD (KELO) — The Brookings Summer Arts Festival features works for sale by 175 artists from the region, plus dozens of food trucks. The festival is taking place in Pioneer Park from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is also a children’s area with make & take activities, plus live entertainment on three stages. Admission is free. Shuttle buses will run continually from the South Dakota Ag Museum, the cost is $2 each way.
Sanaa’s Gourmet Mediterranean in downtown Sioux Falls is hosting a special Sunday Brunch to raise money for local farmers who have lost their crops to recent flooding. The brunch will featuring food from Sanaa’s and Morrie’s Steakhouse. Serving time is 10:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Springdale Lutheran Church, southeast of Sioux Falls, is hosting an Ice Cream Social. Serving time is 4-6 p.m. The cost is a free-will offering.
The Honey Bee Festival features education, fun, food, drinks and plenty of buzz about honey. It’s taking place at the Laurel Ridge Barn Wedding & Events Venue on Slip Up Creek Road in Sioux Falls from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Summer Concert Series at Good Earth State Park features Janice Gilbert. The music starts at 4 p.m. A park entrance license is required.
The Sioux Falls Municipal Band performs a free concert titled “Date Night.” The concert takes place at the Terrace Park band shell at 8 p.m.
Beat the summer heat with a visit to one of the City of Sioux Falls’ outdoor pools.They’re located at Drake Springs, Terrace, Frank Olson, Kuehn, Laurel Oak, McKennan, Hayward and Pioneer parks. The hours are 1-8 p.m.
Another outdoor option is Wild Water West water park west of Sioux Falls. Visitors can enjoy the water slides, lazy river, wave pool plus the mini-golf course from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The Crossthreads Fiber Guild is hosting Fiber Fun at the Old Courthouse Museum in downtown Sioux Falls. Everyone interesting in knitting, crocheting and needle work is invited to work on projects from 1-4 p.m.
Learn about the historic missions of the USS South Dakota during World War II at the Battleship Memorial Museum in Sioux Falls. The museum, located in Sherman Park, is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. through September. Admission is free.

It’s Hall of Fame Night at Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, SD. Gates open at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. The races start at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for students, free for ages 12 and under.
