SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – A 28-year-old teacher in Huron faces sexual exploitation charges after a student created a “catfish account” on Snapchat and received sexual photos.
According to court documents, Zachary Kaderabek faces multiple charges of sexual exploitation of a minor and solicitation of a minor, after being arrested in November by Huron police.
Kaderabek is scheduled to make his first court appearance Wednesday in Huron.
On Tuesday, the Huron School Board voted to move Kaderabek from paid administrative leave to unpaid administrative leave.
Court documents say a student created a fake Snapchat account to pose as a 14-year-old girl while messaging with Kaderabek.
Police were first notified by the Huron Middle School after a parent reported a student saw “concerning messages.” A student told the Huron Middle School principal the fake account was created after a previous 6th-grade girl received an uncomfortable message from Kaderabek.
Police said the student used photos from Pinterest when messaging with Kaderabek. Kaderabek admitted to police speaking with students on Snapchat and sending four pictures of his penis.
