For the seventh year in a row, residents in St. Bernard are hosting their annual holiday light contest, Will Light For Food, to give back to the community. The public is encouraged to partake in the fun by placing canned goods in a container located outside of their favorite decorated home. All canned goods will then be donated to St. Clement’s Food Pantry. The event will take place from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3. The event will have a trolley to take visitors around to see the lights, a Vendor Holiday Market, and more. The home with the most canned goods in its container by 8:30 p.m. will be considered the winner. “St. Bernard’s annual holiday light contest is a contest that was created to bring us together in the spirit of the holidays and in the shared interest of giving back,” event organizer, Layla Keiner, said in a statement. A map listing the competing homes and a list of items in high demand at the food pantry is available here.
