SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Two juveniles have been arrested after leading authorities on a chase in a stolen vehicle.
Around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, authorities in Codington County say two juvenile males stole a vehicle in Aberdeen. Day County Sheriff’s Office deputies started the pursuit on I-29 traveling southbound and soon crossed into Codington County. Deputies deployed spike strips and were successful in stopping the vehicle.
The two juveniles exited the vehicle and fled on food. Search and rescue was called in and assisted in finding the two juveniles.
Authorities say the juveniles were runaways from Aberdeen. They were transported to the Codington County Detention Center and were later released to the Child Protective Services.
