SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A Spearfish child care provider working at a licensed facility has been charged with first degree rape and sexual contact with a minor, according to court records obtained by KELOLAND News on Thursday.
Documents available as of Thursday do not name the location the alleged acts took place.
Court records allege that in August of 2024, Sarah Mae Hazledine, 48, sexually penetrated a three-year-old.
Hazledine is out on a $75,000 she posted Thursday.
Her full charges are: rape first degree of a child under the age of 13 — a Class 6 felony with a mandatory minimum sentence of 15-years, or in the alternative; sexual contact with a minor Under Age 16 — a Class 3 felony.
