Southern Miss football (1-2) looks to score a second consecutive victory on the road against Tulane (3-0) on Saturday (6 p.m., ESPN+).
The rivalry game represents a reunion for USM coach Will Hall, who served as the Green Wave’s offensive coordinator for two seasons before arriving in Hattiesburg.
He beat the Golden Eagles twice as Tulane’s OC. Saturday, he’ll be out to do the inverse.
It won’t be easy, though. Willie Fritz’s Green Wave team is 3-0 for the first time since 1998, and is coming off a surprising victory on the road over Kansas State.
Southern Miss enters this game after a 64-10 obliteration of an FCS Northwestern State team. Saturday’s contest presents the Golden Eagles with an opportunity to win two games in a row for just the second time since Hall took over the program ahead of the 2021 season.
