SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — NFL team cutdowns to a 53-man roster occurred Tuesday, and the roster decisions left some players on teams, and others on the outside looking in.

Below is a list of NFL players with ties to South Dakota who have been on a team as of 2024, and what their status is post-August 27 cuts.

Note: Players cut or waived on Tuesday may be resigned by practice squads on Wednesday.

SDSU

  • Isaiah Davis – RB – Jets
    • Davis was drafted by the Jets in the 5th round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
    • Davis made the initial 53-man roster and sits at RB3 on the team’s unofficial depth chart, behind starter Breece Hall and fellow rookie Braelon Allen, and ahead of 2nd year player Israel Abanikanda.
  • DyShawn Gales – CB – FA
    • Gales signed with the Cleveland Browns as an undrafted free agent (UDFA) following the 2024 draft. He was released by the Browns during a round of earlier roster cuts at the beginning of August.
  • Dallas Goedert – TE – Eagles
    • Goedert was drafted by the Eagles in 2018.
    • He currently sits atop the depth chart in Philadelphia at the TE position, ahead of 3rd-year player Grant Calcaterra. Veteran TE Albert Okwuegbunam also remains on the team, but has been placed on injured reserve.
  • Garret Greenfield – OT – FA
    • Greenfield was picked up as a UDFA by the Seattle Seahawks after the 2024 draft. He was waived by the team on August 27.
  • Zach Heins – TE – FA
    • Heins signed with the Chargers as a UDFA in 2024, but was waived by the team on August 27.
  • Jadon Janke – WR – FA
    • Janke signed with the Houston Texans as a UDFA in 2024. He was waived by the Texans on August 12, signed by the Dolphins on August 19, and waived by the Dolphins on August 27.
  • Jaxon Janke – WR – FA
    • Jaxon, twin brother of Jadon Janke, also signed with the Texans as a FA in 2024. He was waived by the team on July 18.
  • Tucker Kraft – TE – Packers
    • Kraft was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the 3rd round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
    • Kraft tore his pectoral muscle this summer, but has been removed from the PUP (physically unable to perform) list. He is currently TE2 on the team’s unofficial depth chart behind Luke Musgrave, who the Packers took one round ahead of Kraft in the 2023 draft.
  • Mason McCormick – OG – Steelers
    • McCormick was drafted by the Steelers in the 4th round of the 2024 draft.
    • He currently sits as the backup right guard on the team’s unofficial depth chart, behind presumed starter James Daniels, a 7-year veteran.
  • Chris Oladokun – QB – FA
    • Oladokun was drafted in the final round of the 2022 draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers and was released in August of 2022. Since then, he has spent his career on the Kansas City Chiefs’ practice squad.
    • Oladokun was waived by the Chiefs on Tuesday.
  • Christian Rozeboom – LB – Rams
    • Rozeboom was signed as a UDFA by the Rams in 2020, and spent the next few years between the Rams and Chiefs practice squads, being cut by the Rams twice.
    • In 2024, Rozeboom has once again found himself back with the Rams, this time securing a spot on the initial 53-man roster.
    • Rozeboom is currently listed as a starting ILB on the Rams’ unofficial depth chart, ahead of Troy Reeder, Jake Hummel, Omar Speights and Elias Neal.
  • Isaiah Stalbird – LB – FA
    • Stalbird was signed by the Saints as a UDFA in 2024, but was waived by the team on Tuesday.
  • Pierre Strong – RB – Browns
    • Strong was drafted by the Patriots in the 4th round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He was traded to the Browns in August 2023.
    • Strong is listed as RB3 on the Browns depth chart, behind Nick Chubb and Jerome Ford, though he has a chance to see the field early in 2024 with 28-year-old Chubb beginning the season on the PUP list. Chubb will miss at least the first four weeks of the season with this designation, making Strong the direct backup to Ford in the meantime.

USD

  • Kameron Cline – DL – FA
    • Cline was signed as a UDFA by the Colts in 2020 and spent the last few seasons on their practice squad.
    • He was claimed off waivers by the Bills in 2023, and spent the season on their practice squad. He was waived by the bills Tuesday.
  • Jack Cochrane – LB – Chiefs
    • Cochrane was signed by the Chiefs as a UDFA in 20022.
    • He is now listed as a 2nd string linebacker on the depth chart behind Nick Bolton, Drue Tranquill and Leo Chenal.
  • Myles Harden – CB – Browns
    • Harden was drafted by the Browns in the 7th round of the 2024 draft and has secured a spot on the initial 53-man roster.
    • Harden occupies the 4th string LCB role on the depth chart behind Cameron Mitchell and Denzel Ward.
  • Brock Mogensen – LB – Cowboys
    • Mogensen signed with the Cowboys as a UDFA in 2024.
    • He has made the 53-man roster as a fourth-team LB.

Augustana

  • Casey Bauman – QB – FA
    • Bauman signed with the Chargers as a UDFA in 2024 but was waived by the team following their preseason game against the Seahawks.
  • C.J. Ham – FB – Vikings
    • Ham was signed by the Vikings as a UDFA in 2016 and is currently the only fullback on the 53-man roster.
  • Blake Larson – OT – FA
    • Larson was signed as a UDFA by the Rams in 2024 and was waived in the first round of roster cuts in August.

USF

  • Trey Pipkins – OG – Chargers
    • Pipkins was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Chargers as a right tackle.
    • He has since been moved to guard and occupies the role of starting right guard on the offensive line.
  • Dennis Gardeck – LB – Cardinals
    • Gardeck was signed by the Cardinals as a UDFA in 2018.
    • He is currently a starting OLB for the team alongside Zaven Collins.

South Dakota High Schools

  • Tip Reiman – TE – Cardinals
    • Reiman attended O’Gorman and St. Thomas More in South Dakota.
    • Reiman was drafted by the Cardinals in the 3rd round of the 2024 draft as the 3rd TE off the boards behind Brock Bowers (1.13 Raiders) and Ben Sinnott (2.53 Commanders).
    • He is the TE3 on the Cardinals depth chart behind starter Trey McBride and second string TE Elijah Higgins.
  • Spencer Waege – DL – FA
    • Waege went to school in Watertown.
    • Waege was signed as a UDFA by the 49ers in 2023 and later waived by the team. He was picked up by the Packers and subsequently waived on Tuesday.
  • Matt Farniok – C – FA
    • Farniok attended Washington High School in Sioux Falls.
    • Farniok was drafted by the Cowboys in the 7th round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He was waived by the Cowboys in 2023, signed and released by the Bears later that year then signed to the Lions practice squad in December 2023.
    • He was waived by the Lions in July of 2024.
