Two days before Robert McCann was scheduled to deploy, the friend that was supposed to take care of Thor, his German Shepard, said they couldn’t keep the dog.
He called kennel after kennel before one finally agreed to take Thor.
Ten months later, it was time to pick up Thor and pay the $3,000 boarding fee.
But little did he know that when he was gone, kennel employees were able to raise enough money to pay the bill in full.
