SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Hits of snow here and there are slowly adding to my snowfall prediction. Here’s a look at where I stand.

Amounts for these four cities range from just over an inch in Pierre to just shy of three inches in Aberdeen. Rapid City was able to pick up 2.2 inches this week to bring their total to 2.4 inches.

Here’s where others stand this season…

In southeast KELOLAND, the amounts vary from just enough to measure in northwest Iowa to 4 inches in Worthington. Brookings has had 2 inches.

Northeast KELOLAND is a little heavier.
Nearly 5 inches has fallen this season in Watertown with just over 3 inches in Sisseton.

Webster has been an area that’s been getting some of the most snow with amounts of 7 to 10 inches being reported for the season.

Western and central KELOLAND has had very little with amounts generally in the one to two-inch range. Of course, the recent snow in the Hills has been a lot more.

After Thursday’s snow showers and flurries, we’re watching for a wintry mix Friday night into Saturday morning, when around another inch of snow will be possible.

As the saying goes, “inch by inch is a cinch. Yard by yard is hard.” But it seems I’m adding to these totals a half-inch at a time.
