WHITESTOWN, IND. (KELO) — The Sioux Falls Little League team began the Midwest Regional with an 11-1 win over the North Dakota state champion.
Sioux Falls began the game with a five-run rally in the first inning. The South Dakota state champs added three more in the third and fifth innings.
Sioux Falls’ pitchers limited North Dakota to just one hit and one walk and combined for eight strikeouts.
Four South Dakota players had multi-hit games. Devin Cargin went 2-for-3 with three RBI. Samuel Wurth posted a 2-for-2 with four RBI day.
Sioux Falls advances in the winner’s bracket and will play Saturday at 3 p.m. CT.
