SIOUX FALLS S.D. (KELO) — A juvenile will be charged for making threats to Sioux Falls schools on social media.

Sioux Falls Police Department spokesman Sam Clemens confirmed to KELOLAND News an out-of-state social post was altered to include Sioux Falls schools by the juvenile, who lives in Sioux Falls. Clemens said the juvenile will be charged in juvenile court.

There was no credible threat behind the post, Clemens said.

On Tuesday, Clemens said if police could find the threat was manipulated or altered by someone in Sioux Falls, there could be charges.

“The first priority is keeping the school safe, the second priority is finding out if the threat is credible is there anything to it and who is responsible,” he said Tuesday.

Because it was deemed not a real threat, school went on as usual Tuesday.
