INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group disclosed in an SEC filing that CEO David Simon is being treated for cancer.
Simon Property Group is the largest owner of shopping malls in the United States. The group owns nine shopping centers in Indiana including the Fashion Mall at Keystone, Greenwood Park Mall, Castleton Square Mall and Hamilton Town Center.
David Simon, 62, has been the CEO of Simon Group since 1995 and president since 2019.
Simon informed the board of directors on May 29 that he began undergoing therapeutic treatment for cancer.
Simon will continue to serve as chairman of the board, chief executive officer and president during the course of his treatment, the filing stated.
