FLOYD COUNTY, Ind. — Indiana State Police have declared a Silver Alert for a missing teenager out of Floyd County.

The Floyd County Sheriff’s Department is asking the public for help in finding Virginia Vandaveer. Police said Vandaveer went missing around 7:30 a.m. on Dec. 30 in New Albany.

ISP describes Vandaveer as a 5’2″, 120-pound 17-year-old white girl with brown hair and hazel eyes. She was reportedly last seen wearing a sweatshirt, black leggings and tennis shoes.

Police said Vandaveer was last seen in New Albany, which is 115 miles south of Indianapolis. ISP believes she is in extreme danger and may require medical assistance.

Anyone with information on Vandaveer’s whereabouts is being asked to immediately call 911 or the local Sheriff’s Dept. at (812) 948-5400. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at (317) 262-TIPS.
