INDIANAPOLIS — A near north side restaurant got a glowing review from an NBA legend Friday night.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, four-time NBA Champion and 15-time all-star Shaquille O’Neal called Kountry Kitchen “The best soul food spot ever.”
“I’m (in) Indiana for the all star game and the best soul food spot ever is Kountry Kitchen at 1831 N College Ave,” O’Neal’s post reads. “OMG macaroni on point.”
According to its website, Kountry Kitchen is open from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Thursday. The restaurant is open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.
Kountry Kitchen has had its share of celebrities visit over the years. Per its website, former President Barack Obama, Pro Football Hall-of-Famer Shannon Sharpe, Super Bowl Champion Vince Wilfork, musician Lupe Fiasco, former NBA All-Star Dominique Wilkins, comedian Katt Williams and talk show host Jimmy Fallon have all visited the restaurant.
Kountry Kitchen opened in Indianapolis in 1988, according to its website.
O’Neal, also known as DJ Diesel, performed at the Indiana Convention Center Thursday night. He will also help spearhead TNT’s coverage of All-Star Weekend.
