The Smithscript Spear is a Spear weapon that can only be found in Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. While it requires that you invest a few points in multiple stats, this weapon may be worth it for anyone looking to add long-range capabilities to their spear loadout, as its strong attack can be used to throw the spear at enemies. Very cool.

Here’s what you need to know about the Smithscript Spear and where to find it.

Smithscript Spear stats and features

The Smithscript Spear has a weight of 4.0 and requires the following stats to wield:

  • STR – 9
  • DEX – 12
  • INT – 11
  • FAI – 11

The weapon comes equipped with Ash of War: Impaling Thrust. This Ash of War lets you lunge forward with the spear to hit enemies in a straight line in front of you. Better yet, it’s a piercing attack, which makes it incredible for breaking the guard of shield-bearing foes.

The Smithscript Spear can be upgraded to +25 with standard Smithing Stones.

Smithscript Spear item description

The Smithscript Spear’s item description reads:

Luckily, you won’t have to go deep into the dungeon for the Smithscript Spear, as it can be found in the first main room. Pass over the bridge where an enemy and a lever awaits you, take out the foe, then loot the body on the right to add this throwable spear to your collection.
