Seven people were shot, one fatally, in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood overnight Sunday, police said.

A group was gathered outside in the 4800 block of West Iowa Street around 1 a.m. when an argument broke out, and unknown individuals started shooting, according to Chicago police.

Police found a 25-year-old woman at the scene unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds. She was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

A 17-year-old girl was also shot in the leg. Police said she was transported to West Suburban Medical Center in good condition.

A 27-year-old man shot in the leg was transported to Stroger Hospital in good condition, according to police. A 29-year-old man had gunshot wounds in his chest and arm and was transported in critical condition to Stroger Hospital, police said.

A second 29-year-old man was transported to Stroger in good condition after being shot in the arm, police said, and a 28-year-old woman with a gunshot wound in her ear was transported to Stroger in good condition. A 28-year-old man, who was shot in the leg and arm, was transported to Stroger in good condition, police said.

Area Four detectives are investigating the shooting. There is no one in custody.
