Miss Mississippi State University Emmie Perkins was the preliminary Red Capet winner and Miss Riverbend Kayla Braswell was the preliminary Talent winner in the second round preliminary competition of the Miss Mississippi pageant Thursday night in Vicksburg.

Preliminary rounds kicked off Wednesday night and continue tonight. The finale will be Saturday night with the crowning of a new Miss Mississippi. 

Thirty-one contestants are competing for the crown.

Wednesday night’s preliminary winners were:

Formal wear: Miss Jones County Karsyn Ulmer, formal wear who won the formal wear competition at Wednesday’s preliminary.

Preliminary rounds are: 7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday stream for $20 per night, while Saturday’s session is $35.
