Phoenix Police detectives are investigating a shooting that took the lives of two men.

Officers were called to shooting at a bar near 48th Street and McDowell Road, just after 1:30 Saturday morning. When they arrived, they found a man, later identified as 35-year-old Jordan Davis, in the parking lot with a gunshot wound. Davis was a security guard at the bar and was shot during a physical fight with a man, later identified as 34-year-old Daniel Stuart, after Davis refused Stuart entry into the bar. Stuart left the area on foot before police arrived.

Witnesses told the officers there was another man at the scene that was involved in the shooting. The man was identified as another security guard working at the bar. He was detained and cooperated with the investigation.

The fire department responded and transported Davis to the hospital where he died from his injuries. Later that morning, Stuart arrived at a hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. Stuart was treated but died from his injuries.

Officers secured the scenes and gathered the initial information.

Detectives from the Homicide Unit responded to process the crime scene and interview witnesses.

The surviving security was interviewed and released. Once the investigation is complete, the case will be submitted to the Maricopa County Attorney for review.
