MANILA, Philippines — Sean Mischa Aranar and Ana Leonila delivered three 0f the Philippines’ four-medal haul in the 31st Southeast Asian Games dancesport on Monday at Nha thi dau Long Bien in Vietnam.
Aranar and Leonila danced their way to three gold medals, ruling Viennesse Waltz, Tango and the All Five Dances contest.
Mark Jayson Gayon and Mary Joy Renigen also delivered a golden performance in the slow foxtrot, where they beat runner-up Thailand and bronze medalist Malaysia.
Gayon and Renigen also got two silver medals, placing second both in quick step and waltz as Thailand got two golds from those events.
The Philippine dancesport team has now five golds, five silvers and two bronze medals. Stephanie Sabalo and Michael Angelo Marquez seized the first gold in cha-cha on Sunday.
In 2019, the squad produced the most number of medals for the country, ruling 10 out of 12 events.
