The Philippine Kurash team added more medals to its haul in the 31st Southeast Asian Games in Hanoi, Vietnam on Wednesday ahead of the official opening of the biennial meet.

Sydney Sy claimed the silver medal in the women’s +87kg category, bowing to Myanmar’s Aye Aye Aung, 1-0 in the final.

Al Rolan Llamas, meanwhile, salvaged bronze after losing to hometown bet Hai Le Cong, 1-0, in the preliminaries.

The victories hike the Kurash delegation’s medal count to six after medals from Helen Aclopen (silver women’s -48kg), Charmea Quelino (silver women’s -52kg), George Baclagan (bronze men’s -90kg) and Renzo Cazeñas (bronze men’s 81kg).

In the 2019 SEA Games here in the Philippines, Kurash finished with a total of eight medals including one gold.
