MANILA, Philippines—Jackielou Escarpe copped the Philippines second gold medal at the 31st Southeast Asian Games on Friday.
Escarpe seized the gold in the men’s -73kg kurash after beating Boonrangsee Apicha of Thailand, 1-0, in the final.
Bianca Mae Estrella also made the podium in kurash, winning the bronze medal in the women’s -70kg class.
The country’s second gold came two days after Mary Francine Padios won the first in pencak silat.
The Philippine kurash team has now matched its output in the previous SEA Games with eight medals.
