BROOKINGS, S.D. (KELO) — SDSU and NDSU have met more than 100 times on the football field, and the two teams have split the 20 meetings at the FCS level.
The Jackrabbits and Bison are currently ranked one and two in the FCS. It’s the second time in the rivalry that the two meet while holding the top two spots in the polls, as it also occurred back in 2022 when the Bison were ranked No. 1. The Jacks pulled out a two-point win and have held the top spot ever since.
But no matter the rankings, SDSU feels the showdown carries extra importance.
“It’s the best rivalry game in all of FCS football,” SDSU head coach Jimmy Rogers said. “I thought that years ago, before it was one versus two or whatever the rankings were, because the spirit that’s played on the field, the physicality and the guys’ desire to bring home the Dakota Marker trophy, it means something more.”
The Jacks and the Bison kick off at 7 p.m. Saturday night in the FargoDome.
